Tell Us Why You Should Win: Clarence and Deja started dating as teenagers. We have grown emotionally and spiritually into adulthood together. We come from humble beginnings, but we work hard with a plan for success. Last year, we were fortunate enough to purchase our first home at age 22. Recently, Clarence proposed. We want to get married on August 22 because we met each other on August 22, 2015 and have been inseparable ever since. Deja is a fulltime graduate student in law school while simultaneously completing her Master of Social Work. She volunteers as a court advocate for children and works part-time at a local law firm. She also serves as a mentor and public speaker for inner-city youth. Clarence works diligently to protect the rights and quality of life of persons with mental disabilities. He is a traditional gentleman who always holds the door open for women and shovels our elder neighbor’s sidewalk during the winter. He supports the home while Deja is in school. If we win this competition, we would love to have a traditional wedding at our church and a nice reception to celebrate with those who have supported us over the years.
